Train station at Bath

The desire to visit Bath arose as I was exposed to Jane Austin's work as well as other work.  The dream of visiting Bath finally came true.  We started at the Roman Baths.  As I was walking through the building my professor’s lectures would pop into my head.  I sudden would remember stories and information from class about what I was seeing.    The Roman Bath is the only thermal spring in the UK.  The water still runs today and hasn't been treated.  So the water is green....  There are a few different areas where you could go to enjoy the spring’s water.  Different baths in the building consist of; hot baths, warm baths, and then an area that is more like a swimming pool.  To heat some of the pools there is an area below the pool that is mainly open with what looks like posts, and then below that would be a fire.  Many people died while attending to these fires.  The floor plan of the baths was interesting to see because the water started a one point and from there traveled through the whole complex.  The most interesting part to me was that they had built a place where the run off or extra water could drain from. It was a pretty brilliant system for the time.
Fashion has always fascinated me so when I found out that we would be going to a fashion museum I was pretty excited.  The special display was of wedding dresses in honor of the royal wedding.  They had dresses from many different years.  I could have spent hours looking at just this section of the museum.  They have clothing dating from 1800 through today.  The collection of shoes they have from the 1900's was spectacular.  The style was pointed toe and ribbons that tie.
Following the museum we went to the Jane Austen house and then shopping. I found a fastener, which is a hair piece.  I was bound and determined to get a cool hat in England because of what I had seen at the royal wedding.  This isn't a hat, but has the same effect as those hats would. We also visited Thornton’s which is a chocolate shop.  Wow! Little piece of heaven!
I also sketched part of the Abby located in Bath.  While sketching we were serenaded by a variety of musicians because it is the music festival.
