Artist and her painting
Today I visited the inspired by section of the V&A. This section is compiled of work that was inspired by another piece in the museum. I found this section very interesting because you see where the inspiration came from yet the work of art is completely different than what inspired it. The bottom picture is of the artist and her work. I was admiring this piece when she asked me if i liked it. I told her I did. Then she confessed that she was the artist and had only started painting last year. It was so fun to be able to meet the artist and learn more about the painting than what the didactic said. Apparently the little girl at the bottom is her daughter and the stuffed animals are also found in the museum, but they weren't in the inspiration picture. It was fun to meet this woman and talk about her work with her. I hope to have experiences like this more often.
Jessica, Congratulations! Andrea told me the good news about being accepted into the PROGRAM. I am very happy for you. I am so glad that you loved York that was one of my most favorite places in England. My great-grandma Emmelene Wilson was born a few miles from there. I loved the wall, too. I love to read about the museums and the food experiences that you are having. Bath sounded great. I am sure you are very tired but enjoy every minute. You are having an experience of a lifetime. By the way, I love to sit in my living room and just look around and admire it. It looks awesome. Have a marvelous time even when your feet hurt! Lorene
