Well today is the last day I have in London.  The day started with visiting Kensington Palace.  This is where Kate and William will be living.  They had an interesting exhibit today for us to see.  It is based on princesses that have died.  Their story is told through art displays.  When I say art I mean things like trees, dresses, lighting, and things the princesses would collect.  The exhibit was pretty weird.  I liked some of the stuff, but I found myself looking beyond what they wanted you to look at to the elements that make up the room and trying to imagine it as it would be normally.  One thing that they did was these lights that when you look directly at them it is just a vertical line of lights, but when you turn your head you see the silhouette of a woman.  I want to know how they do this!  In another room they were playing the music that they use in the scene of pride and prejudice when Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are dancing and it goes to just them being in the room. It was cool in this room that they focused on dancing and they had a man and woman projected on the ceiling dancing. A helicopter arrived while we waiting for everyone.  After checking out the helicopter and who got in we were all disappointed because it wasn't anyone we knew...  We were on our way to the National Theater after that.  It took forever to get there!  We rode on most if not all of the different lines of the tube... not exactly what we had been expecting. At the National Theater we looked at a pattern display.  I liked most of what I saw and it got me excited to work on patterns.  The building itself I found amazing, but that’s just me. Outside they have large furniture covered in turf.  It is fun.  We ate lunch at a table under and orange umbrella.  I included this picture because I love the color combination.  It is so striking and fun. I have enjoyed my days in London and hope to return one day.

  1. Thank you for a "mind the gap" picture. Now you can see why I need a "mind your head" sign above the stairs. You have had an incredible London experience! I can't wait for the next phase. On to Europe!Lorene

  2. Every time I saw or heard "mind the gap" or "mind your step" or "mind your head" I thought of you. I think that would be perfect to up above your stairs! Those phrases have become part of me now. I wonder what other phrases I will pick up along the way.
