Well today was our first real day in France and it was a bit challenging. I am not a huge fan of not knowing the main language spoken in this country.  Today I feel like we jumped right in with visiting amazing buildings.  The day started with visiting Sainte Chapelle.  It is a cathedral with large stained glass windows.  It was beautiful inside.  Next we visited Centre Pompidou.  This building was basically built with its insides out.  Meaning you can see all of its structure.  I love this industrial style.  The view from the top floor is crazy.  You can see the city for miles.  There is a museum inside that is way cool!  I enjoyed the variety of displays.  My favorite deals with bright, bold colors.  Following a lunch break we ventured to the Louvre.  So, it isn't as big as I thought it was going to be.  Everyone said it was huge, so I expected more.  I love the Pyramid though.  I. M. Pei knew what he was doing when he designed it.  I got to see the infamous Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. I also saw some famous statues.  Cool!  My favorite part of the day was sitting outside sketching the Pyramid at the Louvre and background.  The contrast of contemporary and classic architecture is interesting and takes a minute to get used to, but I really like mixing the old with the new.
